Birmingham Catechist Conferences Coming in August - Register Today!

The Office of Religious Education cordially invites all diocesan catechists in parish religious education programs (PSR/CCD, Adult Education, RCIA, etc.) to join their fellow religious educators in a special opportunity for prayer, fellowship, and growth in the work of handing on the Faith. Our 2015 Catechist Conferences will consider “The Methodology of Teaching the Faith.” Presentations will be offered in English and en Español, and conferences will be held on 2 separate occasions:

Our keynote speaker will be Sr. Johanna Paruch, FSGM, Ph.D. Sr. Johanna currently serves the associate professor of Catechetics at Franciscan University of Steubenville. She has served as a catechist at nearly every level, teaching students from 1st grade through adult education, from PSR through RCIA.

Sr. John Dominic Rasmussen, OP will also be speaking on "Education in Virtue." Sr. John Dominic is co-founder of the vibrant religious community of the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist in Ann Arbor, MI, a veteran catechist, and author of a number of books on faith formation.
